cyber school - an update

Well, we have made it through the first week of cyber school, with at least two more weeks to go.

Thank you for your candid thoughts on your cyber school experiences. I appreciate your input. I hope I am reaching a healthy balance between providing you with meaningful education and burying you with excessive work.

However, a small problem has developed, which I do not want to become a big problem. In writing your blogs, it is expected that you are doing your own, original work. Some of you are not doing that. The email you received on Friday from President DiBiagio addressed this issue:

We are proud of all of our faculty and students for the way they have jumped in to the uncharted waters of online learning! However, we are seeing some issues with students not checking email regularly or turning in assignments on time, as well as with students turning in work that is very similar to other students. Please remember, all elements of the student handbook are still applicable to online learning, including the section on Academic Dishonesty and consequences.

I believe you are all honorable people. Please continue to behave that way, even when you are working from home. Thank you.

Until we meet again...

At long last, we have arrived at the end of this ridiculous school year. What a ride. I appreciate you folks so much - you had patience ...
